mupp-sessed.

That's a terrible pun, but I won't apologize. This post is about the Muppets, so I'm allowed to be ridiculous. Moving on--

Last weekend, I went with Denny and others to see the new Muppet movie. If you haven't seen it yet, go immediately. (I mean, seriously.) After, we proceeded to go directly to I [heart] Video for supplemental Muppet material and childhood memories. We rented "Muppet Christmas Carol," which was on our "holiday movies we must watch before we go home for Christmas" list, and a disc of "The Muppet Show."

Thanks to dead days, finals (or lack thereof), and everyone's need for study breaks, we have had plenty of time over the past week to relive our childhood by watching multiple Muppet Show episodes and most of the movies on the aforementioned list. We reminisced on our childhood memories of the various Muppet movies, and we spent time amusing ourselves by creating a list of Muppet movies that would obviously be a terrible idea -- Muppet Shutter Island, Mup-Fiction, Blue Grit, Muppet Sweeney Todd, The Godfrogger, etc. (Yes, I actually searched "The Godfrogger" and found that image...) Then, our Muppet conversation collided with our love for all things Peter Pan, and we decided that this must be the next great thing. Honestly, why hasn't this been done yet?

And now, blogworld, I present to you our cast list for Muppet Peter Pan. (AKA, "We have too much free time," exhibit A.)

Muppet Peter Pan

Kermit the Frog, as Peter

  Miss Piggy, as Tinker Bell

Analeigh Tipton, as Wendy
(She's the girl from Crazy Stupid Love.)

Asa Butterfield, as John

...not sure yet about Michael.

Rowlf the Dog, as Nanna

Helena Bonham Carter, as Mrs. Darling

Alan Rickman, as Mr. Darling and Captain Hook
(Also, because we've always talked about how he would be an excellent Captain Hook.)

Pirates, etc.:
Gonzo, as Smee

Rizzo, Zoot, Dr. Teeth and Floyd Pepper,
as Additional Pirates

This Muppet crocodile, as the Crocodile.

Lost Boys:
Fozzy Bear, as Tootles

Bunsen, as Nibs

Beaker, as Curly

Statler and Waldorf, as the Twins

Animal, as Slightly

Crazy Harry, as Rufio
(Yes, we are aware that Rufio is not in the original story.
However, we decided that he should be included.)

Scooter, Strangepork, and Beauregard,
as Additional Pirates

Indians:
Sam the Eagle, as the Chief

Janice, as Tiger Lilly

Additional Indians and Mermaid are still undecided.
Any ideas/input on our cast list are welcome!

I hope this will provide sufficient food for thought for today. BANGARANG!
Merry Christmas, err'buddy!
