The Gumby Project: Week 3 and Week 4.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances, I have lost a number of my photos from the past two weeks. Sad days, I know, but the show must go one. Here's what I have:

Wednesday, January 19
I started my last semester of college!
May, here I come!

Saturday, January 22
It was perfect outside. I went to Zilker with Maranda, AYO and Tucker,
soon to be joined by Anjali, Alysse and Callen.
They played frisbee, Maranda and I worked on a secret project,
and we spent the afternoon playing with other people's dogs. It was wonderful.

Monday, January 24
My first day back with my 5th graders. My CT (the teacher who's classroom I am in)
made me a "survival kit!" It has all the essentials, including file folder,
clipboard, stickers, Alive, snacks, and a SWEET journal. AWESOME.

Thursday, January 27
I spent some time after school getting NUGI stuff ready for this weekend.
Our family was "Legends of the Hidden Temple," so I made a sweet t-shirt,
a Pendant of Life and a name tag.

Friday, January 28
SURPRISE! Scott came to the festivities! It was the best. :)
He requested to be in my Gumby picture, but I didn't bring Gumby along,
so we used the next best thing.
It was a great night of friends, food, and karaoke - one of the best. :)

Saturday, January 29
I can't really elaborate on this, do to the fact that it's top secret.
But if you know, you know.
I will say that my team won - KNIGHTS OF THE NIGHT!
awesome.

Sunday, January 30
I thought that my dishwasher was broken, so I spent a good half hour or more
washing all the dirty dishes (about four times as many as are pictured here).
As it turns out, we have a switch inside our cabinet that turns that enables/disables the dishwasher.
Clearly it was turned off, and my roommate came home and enlightened me on this.
WHY there is a switch that has that function, I have no idea. Furthermore, HOW it got in the "off" position, I have no idea. Go figure.

Monday, January 31
I taught my first "official" lesson of the semester today. Segregation and Ruby Bridges,
I dig it. It actually went really well, and I was surprised. But ten points to Gryffindor for that!

Sorry for the lack of pictures, I'm having technical difficulty. I'll try to do better this week!

Oh, and one for the road:
This is what happens when you give Singers sidewalk chalk.
Basketball Court = Pokeball
