11/4/08

I'm reading this book for one of my classes about memoir and teaching memoir. One of the activities it talks about is to have students write a memory exactly as they see it unfolding in their heads. I think, "Oh fun! I'll do this." I pick a memory, but then remember I've already done exactly that.

I open my journal to the pages written in bright orange ink. I remember sitting on a wall outside the PCL writing these pages and being paranoid that people were reading them as they walked by (even thought I know that's absurd). It was windy and almost raining, but I had to write it all down before I forgot. At first glance I see lots of underlines and a set of big words in the middle of the page that say "--AND THEN--" I know exactly what it says, but I'm going to read it all again...
